Oh, and here's something I've been meaning to complain about. Clapping, Happy-Birthday-singing servers in restaurants. Please end this. Six times is far too many for one dining experience. Except Macaroni Grill. They have a man who sings Happy Birthday in Italian in the loveliest tenor voice. It gets the (positive) attention of everyone in the restaurant and when he's done, everyone applauds. It's really nice. But everyone else needs to cut it out.

I agree. I have actually threatened Jason in a restaurant before with the Red Robin people. I think it's degrading for everyone involved unless the recipient of said birthday is under 10.

Marilee had about a dozen people from another table, dressed in con-level sci-fi costumes, sing Happy birthday to her in perfect 4 part harmony, on her birthday :)

ever see the episode of Golden Girls where the girls take Dorothy to a birthday dinner, only it turns out to be a children's eatery, and a clown is serenading all the birthday children? Yep, he sings to Dorothy and asks her to wear a silly hat. Incredibly funny. :)
