Apr. 19th, 2004 03:06 pmThe meetings are over!
The committee elected me their leader. I wasn't expecting that. So now I have to learn how to lead committees.
I've lost 9 pounds in the past week. Don't freak... We ate tons of pizza an hour before we all weighed in and I kept my shoes on. I'm fairly certain there's some weight loss in there somewhere, though, because my chest isn't filling out my blouse the way it did two weeks ago.

Date: 2004-04-26 09:08 am (UTC)Anyway, I was just thinking about how much I miss the Lewiston Civic Theatre. Now *that* was a good group. Of course, I never worked there after Fred left. The last show I was in was Carousel. I did theatre here in Ohio for a while. I found a troupe called the Tree City Players out of Kent (home of Kent State University), but it was a nightmare. When I'm in a play, I go there to work. When everyone goes there with the same goals, it is so much fun. But at the Tree City Players all they wanted to do was goof off and one-up each other in the joke department. It made rehearsals miserable. I got so tired of standing there waiting to do my job and we have to stop again because Jeff had to rip on somebody. The stage manager would yell from the back of the stage to the director in the front of the house while we were rehearsing. I flat out refused to continue until they were finished with their conversation. It got me in trouble with the director, but fuck him. I'm not usually one to pull the prima donna act, but I do expect a modicum of respect, y'know?
We've got another theatre here called Weathervane in Akron. It seems to be better, but wasn't great. I did a salon series there. I long for the days of the LCT with Fred Scheibe directing.
