I got a response to the flying prawn letter!

It was a little underwhelming. Pretty standard stuff. Like when you get a response to a letter you sent to your congressman. But it was still nice they responded and offered gift certificates. If it's a $1 gift certificate, I will *laugh*.

Dear Annissa,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We always like to hear from our customers. I am sorry to hear about this incident. To show that we appreciate your interest in our products we would also like to send you some gift certificates. Please provide your address for this purpose. Thanks again for your time.

Actually my favourite thing about the letter is how they throw their own employees under the bus, requiring them to write *I* instead of *we*, so that if things ever go to court, the company never even acknowledged it happened, it was just someone in the Bug Catching team!

I sent them my address for the gift certificates, but I won't be purchasing any more Valu Time canned vegetables. I might give up on any brand that refuses to spell "value" properly. Spelling counts!

I really don't. I'm really curious to see how much the gift certificate will be for. I'm genuinely hoping it's for $1 because that would make the best story. Honestly, I'll probably donate the rest of the cans in my cupboard along with whatever I buy with the gift certificate to the local foodbank. They're probably fine, but I can't bring myself to eat that brand anymore.

It took me a minute to stop laughing at the title to this entry.

Hmm, well here's a thought, if the gift cerfiticate is for a generous amount; purchase the cans then donate the food to your local food bank. Passing the karma (hopefully no bugs) on and such.
