I was bored in-game last night. I usually fish when bored but the moon phase was exactly wrong for fishing (45%). Turns out the undead swarm were marching on Al Zahbi. I jumped the ship to the far east and died within the first 3 minutes of the 15 minute trip.



Lusengli was waiting for me in Port Al Zahbi. She raised me and we made it only 2 minutes late to Besieged.

I hit the print screen button just as she was casting some sort of spike spell. Neat picture, though. My first Besieged!!!



Only 128 people participated in last night's Besieged. We still kept the astral candescence. Unfortunately, because I had only popped (but not completed) the mercenery quest I got 0 experience points. Most people were getting between 2,700 - 3,200 xp. I had a ton of fun, though!



Upon seeing that I had not gotten any experience, Lusengli took pity on me and escorted me to the Halvung Staging Area where I could complete the quest to become a mercenery. The chocobo NPC had been captured by the undead swarm, so we hoofed it through Bhaflau Thicket. She underestimated the strength of the tigers in the region just outside Al Zahbi so I got to practice my new dance emotes while we waited for a Raise. She felt pretty silly being a WHM and having left reraise down.

Looks like you had a good time. :) That spike spell is the vital white mage survival tool called Stoneskin that you'll learn and love very soon! (lvl28)

Despite the lag, I love love love Besieged! I died a total of 4 times that night and immediately had 3 or more raises. I had reraise up so it was unnecessary, but it was very cool. How I managed to get and hold hate as a lvl 33 (I de-leveled on the boat) BLM, I don't understand. My nukes were hitting for between 60 and 85. Then after Besieged I noticed other people laying around dead, but nobody was raising them. That kind of sucked. I hope it was because they had chosen not to be raised and not because no one was willing to help.

Also, I got charmed! I didn't attack anyone, but I pulled my weapon and was running around all over the place. It's probably irritating if that happens while you're in a party, but since it was Besieged, it was kind of fun.
