The Very Picture of Health
Apr. 19th, 2012 07:54 amI had my follow-up appointment with my GP yesterday and it turns out I am extremely healthy. All of the tests came back negative for the nasties. No kidneystones, no diabetes, no fibroids, no perforated uterus, one gallstone that isn't blocking anything (apparently the big ones are the kind you want to have if you must have a gallstone). I have a perfectly functioning body. I mean, my insurance company won't sell me life insurance because my BMI is too high (and don't think I'm not bitter about that), but I am the very picture of health. So nobody knows what caused the pain that sent me to the emergency room on Saturday and if it doesn't recur, we will never know.
Favorite line from my ER write-up: "She is a well-developed female lying in bed." Why, thank you. They also wrote, "She is pleasant, conversational with a normal affect." I get that a lot. They did call my pancreas "unremarkable," which was rather rude. My pancreas is *awesome*.
