Apr. 16th, 2012 07:49 amI had my first trip to the emergency room on Saturday. Shortly after I woke up Saturday morning, I started having severe abdominal pain right around my belly button. As time progressed, it moved slightly lower and to the right. I'd taken some Pepto Bismol and eaten some bread in hopes of calming whatever was causing the pain, but nothing helped. Fearing it was my appendix, Justin took me to the hospital.
We were there from noon until about 6:30 and by the time we left, the pain and dulled to a constant, low hurt. Still there, but manageable. The tests they ran showed nothing wrong. So that's confusing. I've got a follow-up appointment with my GP on Wednesday, but at this point I can only feel the pain if I'm thinking about it.
I don't know how much the visit is going to cost me. I'm a little nervous about that because I really had my heart set on taking Dominic to Disney World this summer. The cost of the CT scan could break those plans. And the thrill of someone pushing me on my hospital bed through the corridors won't make up for it.
I usually try to end these posts on an up-note. As much as I complain, I'm not actually a hugely negative person. But I'm afraid I don't really have something positive to post here. Sorry.
