Dominic's great grandma Tena brought her new puppy over to our house yesterday. Freckles is a 6-week old tri-color cocker spaniel. He's so friggin' cute! Dominic was at first interested in the puppy, then he was terrified of the puppy. Dominic would try to run away and Freckles, of course, ran after him. Dominic spent most of the time cowering from the puppy on my lap.

This morning I finished packing my suitcase, took it out to the car, then came back in to say goodbye to the family. Dominic was in his high chair eating his waffle. I gave him a kiss on his head and said, "OK, I'm going to be gone for a few days, but I will be back soon." He started bawling. I think he understands a lot more than I give him credit for. I got him cheered up and he fed me some of his waffle. He gave me a kiss goodbye. I'm really excited about this trip, but I hate leaving him behind.
