I have a perfectly normal baby! I actually had my level 2 ultrasound and genetic counseling on Tuesday, but for some reason it's difficult for me to write about it. I met with the counselors and they were very nice and gave me a lot of information on Down Syndrome and its causes. It wasn't anything I didn't already know, but goshdarnit, they were just so darn nice! Then we went in for the ultrasound. It was much higher resolution than the 20-week (and the 20-week blew the 10-week right out of the water). My baby's gotten cute! Unfortunately, he was moving around so much that we didn't get any good pictures. Then the doctor came in to see the baby with his own eyes. He found what the original doctor was talking about but determined that what she saw was actually the valves of the heart working in a perfectly normal fashion. If she'd simply attended the ultrasound (or watched a video) she would've seen it for herself. I felt so good afterward! Still, that was a week and a half of pure misery.
Coworker Renee was asking for (work-related) high-res images earlier today, so I pulled out all of my photographs and picture CDs and found a whole pack of pictures I'd taken on a visit to Washington several years ago. I wonder why I left them here. But there's pictures of Bart, Ken, Stacey, and Marilee to name a few. It was a welcome surprise! But, man, am I a bad photographer!
