Aug. 20th, 2003 04:14 pmAs I was walking to my car this morning, the leasing lady (who used to be in charge of my complex, but was recently demoted back to head housekeeper) drove by my building, saw me and hit the gas. I dislike her. She once told me to put Sabby's litter box in the dishwasher to clean it. Have you heard anything that gross before?
Today is the one month mark. I move in 31 days! I'm more excited than I can convey. Every day about this time I get this sick feeling in my stomach because I have to go back to my apartment. There are gnats and carpenter ants everywhere and it smells bad. I know I bitch about it a lot, but it's consuming my life right now. But I count myself luckier than a guy who lives north of here whose house has been struck by lightning twice in the past five weeks. So, yeah...I'm better off than he is.
My former wedding planner, Vanda, called today to let me know she was going to credit my credit card for the deposit on the wedding I cancelled and apologized for taking so long (it hasn't actually been very long, although I was starting to expect a check). She rocks so much and she's so kind that I really regret not being able to go through with the wedding there. I told her that I hope to visit sometime in the future and she said that if I did to give her a call and if I stayed at her hotel that she'd get me an upgrade to a suite and treat Justin and me to dinner and a show. Ok, so if you guys go to Vegas, I highly recommend Hotel San Remo. I've never stayed there, but I've been convinced by their utterly fantastic customer service that they're awesome. And Ed recommends them. He stayed there with his wife about four years ago.
I got an ice cream cone yesterday. Actually two. We had cones here at work and Cathy brought in some Moose Tracks ice cream. Plus I bought some cones this weekend for home plus some tin roof sundae. I was on a sweets kick this weekend. I also bought brownie mix and the makings for the muddy buddies (chocolate chips, peanut butter, chex, and powdered sugar) that I brought in to work today.
Mark brought me his Van Morrison CD so I got to hear my song as well as some other songs that I didn't know were by Van Morrison (although as soon as I heard them I slapped my forehead and wondered how I could have missed it). My Dream a Little Dream CD is on it's way. I also bought a VHS copy of the movie. I had to buy it used because the only new one on Amazon was $75. I think it was only released as a rental. I can't wait to get it. I love that movie.
It's going to be weird to get in my car with "Into the Mystic" going through my head and get a blast of Crystal Method's "Name of the Game" when I start it up.
