The final push to get the whole office packed up began this morning. Everything has been pulled off the walls and the lunchroom is being all packed up. Marcy's called in Shred-It to shred the empty boxes in the warehouse. That doesn't make any sense to me, so I'm going down there to break down the boxes and get them into the recycling dumpster before Shred-It comes. At 4 p.m. on Friday the phones are being shut down and transferred to the new office. That weekend Mark is moving all the phones and computers. I've volunteered to help him, but every time he talks about it, he talks as though he's doing it alone, so I don't know if I will be helping him. The movers come on Monday and Tuesday to move the boxes and furniture. Wednesday is supposed to be our first day of business at the new office. It's weird because we normally only work half a day the day before Thanksgiving. I don't know how they're going to work it this year. But Stauche and Cry are actually coming over for Thanksgiving (!!!) so I hope we only have half a day. I might request it anyway so I can be home when they get here. I don't want a repeat of last year. *blush*

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I need to find someplace that will sell me a spiral-sliced ham...

That's really bizarre. Last year they moved my department to a new office over the weekend of Thanksgiving. I guess it makes sense to move since a lot of people assume an office will be closed that week. However, it doesn't make sense that they would have you come in at all during that week.

That's what I said, so I asked the president what we are expected to do on Monday and Tuesday. He said he expects us to move stuff. "Stuff." *shrug*
