Sep. 20th, 2004 02:02 pmWell, it's finally happened. Someone finally hit an NIT student with his car. It was bound to happen eventually. They're like cows down there. They know a car is coming but it doesn't occur to them to get out of the road. Apparently it happened while Joel was backing out. He didn't feel or see anything, but a guy and his friends started yelling and catcalling at him. I guess Joel told them to "piss off" so they called the cops. Which is kind of fun because the cops have no jurisdiction in a private parking lot. No one was hurt.
It kind of reminds of the time when I had to stop in the driveway because a guy was standing there talking to friends. The guy turned around and looked at me, then turned back around and continued talking. Finally one of his friends grabbed him by the sleeve and moved him. I went past and waved at him. When I passed I saw him in my rearview mirrors making "You wanna make something of it?" arm gestures at my tail lights. Class act all the way.
As much as I dislike the NITwits, I also feel bad for them. It costs a lot of money to take classes there and in the end you wind up with an absolutely worthless degree. The school has been going for years and they just got accredited last year. When Justin was working for a headhunter, they automatically threw away any resume from someone with a degree from NIT (or ITT Tech).
