My mom keeps making me have political discussions with her brother, Ron. I guess he's my Uncle Ron.

See, Ron had been "long lost" until about a year ago. He was a child from my grandfather's first marriage. Mom never saw him when she was a kid and since my grandfather died when Mom was only 13, it never really came up. Like I said, they found each other about a year ago and now Mom is desperate for all of her kids to get to know him.

I don't know...he seems like a nice enough guy, but it just seems like talking politics is a really good way to alienate him from me. We're kind of on opposite sides of the spectrum. I'm a moderate (Ok, I'm a registered Democrat, but I'm very moderate in my ideals) and he's a Republican.

So Mom sends these spam emails she gets from people on to me and Ron with a note that says, "Discuss...CC me." So I just send a link and a few quotes from snopes.com. Snopes lists all of his cites...it's not hard to do the research (thanks, snopes!). But I'll get an email back telling me I'm wrong. Well, whatever. I should just write to him and tell him I still expect a wedding gift and while he's at it, he's got 24 years of birthday presents to catch up on as well. :P

Well I'm sorry to hear that your a D... J/K. I don't have any beef with Republicans or Democrats. I'm pretty good and seeing both sides.

It kinds sucks when someone keeps talking poltics.

I'm stuck at 200 lbs. I've been at this weight for four weeks. I'm working on it, though. I'm sure that I'll come into work one day for the weekly weigh in and be down a lot more weight. I really only need to lose 5 more to fit into my wedding dress. But I'd sure like to lose a lot more than that before August. :)

My mom believed that story that Target was owned by the French (it's actually based in Dayton, Ohio) and refused to support American military veterans. I had to show her the Snopes page debunking that story. Fortunately, she read the evidence and realzied the story wasn't true.

Y'know, I was talking to the president of my company who was born and raised in Ohio and even he thinks that Target is owned by the french. Now I have more ammunition the next time I'm on a Walmart rant and someone says, "Well Target's owned by the french!"
