Question: Where was Moriarty's accent from? He sounded almost American sometimes. Or, like an American who'd been living in England for a very long time.

There are three new Sherlock episodes coming later this year, based around the Hound of the Baskervilles, the Reichenbach Falls story, and Irene Adler.

As for Moriarty, his accent is Northern Irish; if I had to guess, I'd say Belfast.

HUSH YOU! I just got it last night and watched the first epidose.

Note to self: DON'T WATCH IT BEFORE BED, it gave me weird dreams.

My friend told me that I wouldn't like Moriarty so I've been preped for that. I told her last night she could dust of her "I told you so" dance because she was probably going to need it.

Are we supposed to like Moriarty? I think he's excellent as a villain, but I don't like him. You finish watching and then we'll discuss. :)

Plan is to watch it this weekend. My friend told me I would hate and be annoyed by the characterization of Moriarty, hence why I've been putting Sherlock off. It was the Pretty and the Price ($30 Can for the season) that changed my mind on giving it a go.

And yes, once I get it done we'll talk Moriarty.

For me it's not whether to like or dislike him, it's the same as Nu vs Classic Master. Applying "like" to villains is always dicey, but "he's not the real..." is a much more innate response. I first realized this with the Joker. There are a lot of Jokers. There's an official platonic Joker in my head, and I measure all others against him.

NuWho Master I just have to think of as a separate character, because he'll just never match up for me. I had a similar reaction to Nu Moriarty, though for very different character cues.

Ahaha. When I saw that ending, I gaped for at least five seconds, then banged on my desk and shouted incoherently, and then watched the last ten minutes again, twice.

Good cliffhanger, huh? I would still be absolutely desperate for the next series if I hadn't discovered Who and become desperate for the fall to come and resolve the spring half of the series...
