Day 28 – First TV show obsession

Forever Knight

Forever Knight is about a vampire who wants to regain his mortality and becomes a homicide detective in modern-day Toronto. In order to secure himself a spot on the night shift, he claims he has a sun allergy, which I always thought was clever because: 1. he was, technically, allergic to the sun, and 2. I was 14 years old and not very sophisticated.

I honestly have no recollection of how I was even exposed to this show. It aired way, way past my bedtime. But somehow I caught it one night and was immediately hooked. I saw it as a bit of a guilty pleasure at the time because nobody I knew watched it. That is, until one fateful day when gement started to talk about it. I think that’s when the two of us bonded. We would call each other on Tuesday night around 8:00, then talk for about 4 hours until the show came on. Then we’d watch the show together over the phone.

I lost interest after Nick's bumbling partner, Schanke, died. The show was never the same.



Ah, Lacroix... I still have a soft spot for Nigel Bennet.
