Crib update

Ok. I called the manufacturer. Yes, our model was recalled. No, our specific crib was not affected. However, due to the recall they have stopped making our specific model (all wood) and have begun making the mattress support only in metal. Because my crib broke where it did and because of the recall, Simplicity is sending me a whole new crib. It cost me $40 in shipping since my specific crib was not recalled, but it beats buying a whole new one. The fact that they didn't fight me and offered immediately to replace the crib for free (less shipping) tells me my crib was on the verge of being recalled also. So if you know anyone who owns a crib that looks like this:

Check to be sure that the mattress support is metal. If it's wood, have them call Simplicity for a replacement. The number is on the envelope attached to the mattress support.
