I had the funniest dream last night. And I think I still remember most of it. But I can't explain it very well. So here it is in a nutshell. I'm in a mayoral debate, only I'm speaking on behalf of Arnold Schwarzenegger (who at times is John Linnell). They ask me to smile for a picture with Arnold, and I make a joke about smiling for republicans and everybody laughs. And then it's John and he's stolen my wallet thinking it's his (it's a girly wallet) and as he's walking out I mention he's got my wallet and he turns around and he's wearing the locket I used to wear all the time with his picture in it (and the guy from "Why Does the Sun Shine." And I'm trying to explain to him that it's not so weird for me to have his picture in my locket (and why is he wearing it anyway) and then the band starts to play "Time Runs Wild" and everyone starts this really frenetic dancing and John (and sometimes Arnold, he keeps changing) and I are dancing and suddenly we're surrounding by my co-workers and then it gets really crowded and we can barely move and someone falls over and everyone falls down like dominos and it sounds like bowling pins. Then I woke up laughing.

I don't think it comes across as funny when it's written down like that.

I got mostly moved in over the weekend. Cathy, Max, Jasper (their four-year-old), Kevin, and Mark came to help. We got the important stuff over. Now I just need to get the rest of the stuff (mostly stuff from the closets and my dining room chairs) and clean and we're outta there. I adore my new apartment. It gets fantastic light and is super dark at night. We've got a great view overlooking a park and some very large trees. We got to watch a falcon catch a pigeon on Saturday and then crows came and started harassing the falcon. We get the occasional sparrow on the balcony and the cat makes his weird mewling noise at them. In the evenings I let Sabby out on the balcony and he will lay down and sleep until it gets dark and I make him come inside. In the mornings the sunlight from the bedroom window shines all the way into the hallway and we get sunbeams in the living room all day long. The water pressure in the shower is so good that I don't want to put the litter box in there anymore. I still haven't tried out the bathtub, though. I'm still trying to get used to the little night noises in the apartments. I've figured out what most of the ticking is, but there's a weird hollow tapping sound that I only hear at night and I can't figure out what it is. It's kind of creepy. I have a heavy-walker in the apartment above me, but I can deal with that. And he either listens to opera or has very musical arguments with his S/O. It has to be pretty loud for me to hear it through the ceiling. There's a foot of concrete between each floor.

I've met up with three of the five neighbors I want to see. Mary and Bobby both recognized me, though it took Bobby a minute or two. I don't think Tommy recognized me at all. I still haven't seen Mr. Haywood and I haven't seen the lady who lived down the hall from me, but I did see a different lady come out of her apartment. So maybe she moved away.

Did you know that Mark Metcalf, the man who plays The Master in BtVS, also played Neidermeyer in Animal House and the dad in Twisted Sister's "We're Not Gonna Take It" video? I didn't. That was a fun discovery this weekend.

He also played "the Maestro" on a few episodes of Seinfeld. :)
