annissamazingThe weather is hurting my head a lot. It's been unseasonably warm for the past several days and now it's turning cold. I don't handle temperature changes well. It started the year after I moved here.
Giant Eagle just bought out all the Tops stores in the area. I hate Giant Eagle. Every experience I've had there has been bad. I shopped at Tops (formerly Finast) so I would never have to go into a Giant Eagle again. But now that all the Tops stores are either closing or becoming Giant Eagles, I won't have much of a choice. So I finally broke down and decided to get a Giant Eagle Advantage card. I stopped into the nearest Giant Eagle store (quite a distance from my house, unfortunately), propped a sleeping Dominic on my shoulder and waited in line at the customer service counter. Then I was turned away because their computers were down.
So I've decided to start shopping at the Acme near where I used to live. It wasn't far from the apartment (about the same distance as the Tops, but in the opposite direction), but it's farther than I want to drive from my house. If the Tops down the road from here becomes a Giant Eagle I may start shopping there, but if it closes entirely, I won't have any good stores near me. There is another Acme that's closer than the one by the apartment, but it sucks. It's small and dingy and poorly lit.
