Co-worker Mark stayed late to take the printer to Linda last night. As he was moving it he said to her, "You know, the reason we gave this to Annissa is because she's having a really hard time walking." Linda replied, "Well, she's only going to be here one more week before she goes on leave." Mark said his jaw just fell open. Most people would see that as a reason to leave it, at least until I went on leave. Not Linda. Apparently my pain is less important than her convenience. Diane really did hire her perfect assistant. The weird thing is, even though I'm irritated, I'm not hurt or even particularly upset about it. Yes, it physically hurts to walk to a printer every time I need to print something and to go to the typewriter because I'm not hooked up to a printer that can print envelopes, but I just can't get upset because it's me they did it to. If it were any other 9-months pregnant woman I would be furious and complaining to all the high-ups in the company. But since it's me, I just feel like I'm being selfish keeping it for myself.

Wonderful Mark found a cheap inkjet and hooked it up to my computer. Here's hoping it lasts for a couple more weeks!

Yesterday we had a babyshower for Joe who's wife had a baby a couple weeks ago. I ended up sitting next to Linda who was nice as she could be to me. She asked me about my name. She said, "Is it a real name?" To which I replied, "Of course it's a real name. It's my name." The room went silent for a second, then the laughter started. What kind of a stupid question is that anyway?

When someone hires their personality clone it is scary. That was one of the few reasons I quit my last job.
