I got a call from Roberta last night that the people who she thought were going to buy that house in North Hill have backed out. She talked to the selling agent and the selling agent said it wouldn't be a problem to hold off the closing until August (which is the soonest Justin and I can buy a house). It was exciting, but I told Roberta that I didn't feel I was educated enough yet to buy a house so soon in the process. I told her that if the house was still on the market in August when we were ready to buy and after we've seen several more houses, we'd definitely consider it, but to tell the selling agent not to hold it for us. I believe we're going to look in Goodyear Heights on Saturday.

When Jason and I were looking at homes we were told that it typically takes 45 days to close. During that time you can back out for any reason. It could be different in Ohio. So maybe you should ask Roberta about the process.

Will do on Saturday! :) The reason we can't buy until August is we have to pay rent until September. Our apartment lease is iron-clad. If we close in September (which is my goal), I won't have a mortgage payment until November. It would be nice to have that extra money during the month of October which is when I'm expecting the baby to arrive.
