Is your wedding on 14aug or 07aug? I'd like to know so that I can take the appropriate time off.
My 1 year wedding anniversary is on 10aug so we'll be taking time off around then anyway.
Continental has a rate right now of $338.20 CLE-SEA non stop. Pre-tax is $295 so if you want to try to purchase through Priceline you have a starting range. I know you would rather fly into GEG but I thought I would mention it.
Oh, I called the Asotin County courthouse to find out what documents we need to bring to get the marriage license. The girl said she didn't need anything. She said we both had to be there. I asked again if we needed anything like drivers' licenses or birth certificates to prove who we are and she said no. That doesn't seem right. Do you remember what you needed for your marriage license?
Thank you for checking the rates for me. I keep checking on them hoping they'll go down as the date gets nearer. It seems most of the sales aren't going till August. I don't know if that's because they haven't planned that far ahead, or they just have no intention of selling cheap tickets in the month of August.
We brought our drier's licenses & birth certificates when we went to get our marriage license. However, they didn't ask for or look at either. Didn't even need ID... we could have claimed we were different people, they didn't care. This was in the state of Vermont. Did you find out about any other WA requirements? Like... do you need any bloodwork/classes/counciling? Is there a waiting period from the time you get your license until the time you can actually use it?
Vermont was easy. That's one of the main reasons we chose to elope there. :)
I found one website that says we need drivers licenses and birth certificates. I think that also means we'll need Justin's name change paperwork since his name is different than the name on his birth certificate. Maybe those are the state requirements and Asotin County just ignores them. I don't know, but I'm not going to go to get my marriage license and be denied because the lady on the phone didn't know what she was talking about. I finally got Justin to call Davidson County (Nashville, TN) and get the information to get his name change documents. Hopefully he'll send away for it soon. I need to send the paperwork to Lorain County (Ohio) for his birth certificate. My paperwork is already in order.
Oh yeah... No bloodwork, classes or counseling, but there is a three day waiting period. So I've got to go in on Monday to apply for the license. Then they mail it to you. They'd better not mail it to my home address.
Oh well, I'll just give the mail key to one of the people who will watch Sabby while I'm away. That way if they send the license by mail, I can just have them overnight it to me.
You also could apply for it in advance, if that would be easier for you. You are often given like 3 or 6 months worth of time from when you apply for the license before you actually have to use it to get married.
Wait a minute... do you live in Oregon or Ohio? For some reason, I've been thinking you live in Oregon and it would just be a drive. I was thinking when you were talking about tickets from Ohio, it was for his folk's to fly out for the wedding... Which is correct?
Because if you live in Ohio - you're close to me! We could get together sometime.
