Gas prices always jump before Memorial Day weekend. The problem is that aviation fuel prices went up too. I was listening to NPR the other day discussing the fact that some discount carriers have the luck to have long-term contracts to lock in their fuel prices *for awhile*, and the bankrupt ones did not, so now have to pay higher. But eventually the discounters with good long-term contracts will eventually have to raise their prices too, or go after their union employee's salaries, or both. They always run stories like this (just grin and pay out, give it up, it's hopeless, etc.) every year, too. But given how much prices have run up, and stayed up so long, the question is, how long is the gouging likely to continue? Until, oh, just shy of election time, perhaps? Mid-October perhaps? Cynics, we're all a bunch of cynics...
I agree on all points. I'm expecting the gas prices to go down sometime in October as well. I started walking to work last week to save gas money. It's working out well. They're working on every single road to work right now and the detour takes me several miles out of my way and it's so congested that it takes 30 minutes to get to work. I only work a mile away!
Check out Travelocity. I was with mom when she saw a bunch of good tickets for decent prices. I think she may have emailed them to you. Good luck! See, I did come here and I even posted!!! :)

Is that the cost of one ticket, or two?
It seems mighty steep.
