Mar. 18th, 2004 01:29 pmI think I think about Buffy too much. Lately, I've been thinking about Willow's significant others and how much I like (or dislike) them. I really like Oz. One of my favorite things about Season 2 is seeing Oz run into Willow over and over and always say, "Who *is* that girl?" That whole relationship is so sweet. But I don't understand his van. Do you ever notice how much it changes? The first time we see it it has zebra stripes on the outside and the steering wheel is on the right-hand side of the vehicle. Then the next time we see it it's green and the driver's side is on the left. I wonder why they did that. I'm assuming it wasn't a mistake, but I don't have the DVDs. Is there any commentary on that?
Then there's Tara. I like Tara. Not as much as I like Oz, but she certainly grows on you. I understand the fans really hated Tara when she was first introduced as Willow's love interest. Even to the point where they were calling the actress who played her fat. Amber Benson seems so nice.
And lastly there's Kennedy. Ugh. That is all.
I'm actually just feeling kind of bored because all I have to do today is type in names and addresses for a mailing. But I've been putting it off for a couple months, so another day won't hurt. So if you have anything you'd like to say about Willow's girlfriends/boyfriend, please comment away. Or about anything else your little heart desires.

The very slight stutter and eyes that would immediatly dart downwards made me want to grab her and scream at the rest of the world to stop picking on her. I thought it particularly nice in the episode where Oz showed up again, mostly cured, and Tara suddenly dropped back into her previous self. At that point, I'd not realized how far she'd come along. I was very very very sad when Tara died, but I realized that only her death, not even that of Buffy or Xander, could have pushed her that far over the edge. As another note not really of her character, but others' feelings toward her, I almost cried when, after Tara died, Dawn huddled in the corner of that bedroom for hours, just because she didn't think Tara should be alone.
I didn't like Kennedy.

Date: 2004-03-22 07:51 am (UTC)I don't remember being really affected by Tara's death. I didn't get a sneak peak, by any means, but I did read that she was signed on to do only so many more episodes. Then they killed her and my only reaction was, "ah." I was much more moved by Xander stopping Willow from destroying the world with his yellow crayon speech. Then the joke was brought full circle when in the next season, he makes Willow's welcome home sign with a yellow crayon and no one can read it. :) Good stuff!
I kind of wonder why they made Willow gay. I kind of wish they'd made her bi so she could maybe get back with Oz. :) One thing I didn't like with how they ended it, is you don't know what Oz is up to now. I wish I knew. The last time you see him, he is whispering to Tara in Willow's dream in "Restless."
Off topic a bit, Xander made the box cover of the Season Six box set. About time. :)
