DW: The Last Voyage
I've been listening to Doctor Who audiobooks while at work. It helps the time pass when I'm doing some of my more brainless tasks. I'm halfway through "The Last Voyage" and it is supremely creepy. Naturally, I adore it. But I was in the middle of a particularly intense scene when David Tennant's voice cut out mid-word and suddenly I hear hail and it sounds as if the ceiling is coming down on top of me. I nearly jumped out of my chair and screamed (I'm pretty sure I gasped loudly). Then I realized that the first half of the recording had ended and iTunes, on shuffle, had started playing a sample of a polyrhythmic ensemble from Ghana (part of my Music as a World Phenomenon course). The singing clued me in.

I've had that happen at work, generally when I'm listening to something funny and I BURST out laughing. My boss and co-workers know to ignore me.

Usually, if I burst out laughing, they all gather 'round to see what's so funny.
With only two minutes left to go in the book, I'd actually stopped working and was just staring at my desk, completely absorbed in the story. One of my co-workers came around the corner with a question about her phone, and I literally jumped out of my chair.
I found the story on Youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TN3lkye3Cho

Ohhh I am SO listening to this!
Btw, DON'T listen to Cabin Pressure (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cabin_Pressure_(radio_series)) while at work. FAR to funny.
