I know it was so good! I have to gush that they finally gave the Tardis her moment to shine. I have always been a fan of fics that treat the Tardis like her own character and finally, they address it on the show. I adored it when she called him her thief!
This is the first time since 2009 that I have felt this way about an episode of Doctor Who. I've been feeling kind of sad for the past couple seasons. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I don't enjoy the show as much as I did. I can't seem to relate to the characters in series 5 and 6 like I did with the characters in seasons 1 - 4. And, like you, Moffat's episodes were among my favorites of Davies' era.
But this episode was great. I loved it.
The only thing that upset me was, you guessed it, Rory's death. Again. I swore. A really bad swear, too. But I liked the angry writing on the walls. I thought that was a nice touch.
Plus, my favorite thing ever about this episode, we got to see the interior of the TARDIS!!!! We need to see more of the interior of the TARDIS.
I have to chime in on this thread mate, because THIS is the first time since 2009, that I enjoyed it too! It was a good story, strong characters, great guest stars and, importantly, they realised how useless the Amy/Rory thing is in moving anything forward (even though I love Rory, his whole reason for being there is as useless as Amy's is) by effectively giving them something else to do during the story. Yes, the Rory death is so stupid now, it's just jokey... he's been killed, what, 7 times now? It's just daft and makes it that the only fairly understated character in the show is just a joke. Oh yeah, the interior of the TARDIS (I mean Sexy) and the old control room!!!!!!!!
But my favourite bit was the TARDIS talking about the pretty one... I mean there wasn't a viewer out there who didn't know EXACTLY who she meant.
The whole "Sexy" thing was weird, but I liked the Doctor's, "Still shut up."
And Rory *is* pretty! I agree with Idris.
My heart broke a little when they wandered into the old control room. I knew the set was still up, but seeing it again was kind of like watching Ten regenerate again. Maybe I'm just a sap.
My theory is that all of these episodes are a dream sequence ala "Normal Again" from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (or Bobby Eweing from Dallas or the entirety of General Hospital or Newhart). My guess is Amy is having a baby and there are complications with the labor, so she's in something similar to a twilight sleep. I think that's where the eyepatch lady is coming from. I also think that's why Rory keeps saying, "I'm a nurse." I think her subconscious is picking up on him saying that next to her sickbed. It would also explain why Rory keeps dying. It's her subconscious working through what is probably her deepest fear.

I truly loved the episode. I'm trying to figure out how to rearrange my top five favorite episodes to accommodate it.
