This is going behind a cut because I'm going to gush about hair care products and if you don't care about that, please skip it.

I've been seeing my hairdresser, Mel, since I moved to Ohio in 1998. I've followed her from salon to salon as she worked her way up. She's now managing a Dino Palmieri salon on the other side of town.

Recently, she got a new product called Deva Curl and was dying to try it out on me. I've been wearing my hair long and wavy for several months now so I've been looking forward to going back to all-out curly. This is my second day with the product and I just have to rave about it.

I got my hair washed with their non-lathering shampoo (called No-Poo, and I gotta say, I'm not a fan of the name) and then conditioned. Then, while my hair was sopping wet, it got flipped over, and a styling gel was applied. Then they blotted my hair with paper towels. Apparently, terry cloth makes curly hair frizzy.

They gently diffused my hair and the curls came out... perfect. They're perfect. They're all uniform and not the least bit frizzy.

I haven't showered this morning and I need to get to the grocery store. So I pulled out one of the products (MISTer Right) and spritzed my hair and the curls bounced right back to how they were yesterday. No frizz. No weird straight bits.

You guys, you have no idea how awesome this is for me. My hair looks weird if it's not thoroughly soaked daily. And now, it doesn't. I don't have to spend 20 minutes just drying my hair.

And the routine is so easy! Wash and condition (not daily), then add the gel in the shower. Blot. Air dry. That's it. They diffused my hair in the salon because we didn't have 45 minutes to air dry.

Ok. So, Deva Curl. Curly-haired people, check this out. http://www.devaconcepts.com/products/

I don't make any money off this post. I just really like sharing products that work great.

Edited to add picture. :)

Edited again:
Dominic crawled up in my lap just after I posted this. He said, "Is that you in the bathroom?"

I said, "Um... who do you think it is?"

He said, "It could be daddy."

I said, "Yeah, it's probably daddy."

He said, "But daddy doesn't wear a necklace."

I said, "Is that the only difference between daddy and me?" and then I sent him to clean his room.

i wanna see a pic to miss pretty girl :)

it's so great to find a product that really and truly works isn't it? the only hair product i've ever come across that made me feel like that is called "it's a 10". i got it at like a supercuts or something. it's a leave in conditioner/anti-frizz type stuff. it's awesome. i can actually skip conditioner and just use it and my hair is super soft and has zero flyaways. which is really saying a lot especially here. it's so friggin dry here. we have a cool air humidifier running 24/7 just to keep from shocking each other and the animals. and my hair was dry before we even got here.

so yeah, we are waiting on that picture :)

"No Poo" LOL that is the most unusual name I have ever heard.

Never heard the paper towel thing either, that is good information to know

Oh how I know how expensive getting one's hair done. I have a sister-in-law that does my red with black highlights and even with her discount it cost about a 100 bunks. But I always feel great after I get it done. My hair doesn't do frizzy but it does do tangles even with it being shoulder length my mornings always have and "owe" or "ugh" associated with it

Hmm, I might have to re-appropriate some microfiber cleaning towels to the bathroom... my hair doesn't curl as beautifully as yours does, but it will wave if babied. And man do I have to fight the frizzies!
