I was asked to watch the phone for the admin department this morning because there was a big meeting for them. So to kill time, I went online to research how many other people have cats with diabetes (sugarcats). I found a site called "Diary of a Diabetic Cat." The woman who writes it (it's told from her point of view, not the cat's), tells her story so well and so plainly. I can't finish reading it though. I read through her first cat dying and I'm just sitting here in tears. It doesn't help that I also read that the average lifespan of a cat after being diagnosed with diabetes is only two years. Sabby was diagnosed in August of 2002. I read these things to prepare myself for his eventual passing, but it just kills me that there's so little time left.
If you know Sabby, feel free to comment, otherwise, please don't. I'm not really looking for sympathy.

Sabby's cool
Date: 2003-11-14 12:13 pm (UTC)It's helped me deal with our current furry sociopath, Mia/Mina (depends on who you ask). She plays about as hard as Sabby, and I'm the only one who will really put up with it, because the pair of you showed me the way.

Date: 2003-11-14 01:08 pm (UTC)I felt kind of bad about it later. Laura looked kind of upset that I did that to her cat.
I joined the sugarcats message board. Sabby's started pulling out his fur.
