Weight loss update
Nov. 19th, 2008 07:39 amI finally found my AA batteries, so I got my food scale up and running. Apparently, I've been greatly underestimating 5 ounces. I was taught 3 ounces was about the size of a pack of playing cards, so I've been using that as a guideline. Last night I weighed out 5 oz of london broil and was shocked by how much it actually is. So for the past 3 days I've been eating closer to 2-3 oz of protein at lunch and dinner.
Dr. Gerlach told me that I'd lose my appetite while I'm in ketosis and this morning it really kicked in. I finished half my breakfast (1/2 C Egg Beaters cooked with no fat) and didn't want the rest of it. Now I'm not sure how I'll eat a whole 5 oz. I'll talk to Dr. Gerlach at my next appointment and see if I'm required to eat the full meals or if I can cut back if I feel full. Until then, I'll eat the full meals. My caloric intake each day is averaging around 600. I don't want to cut it down any more without Dr. approval.
