Jan. 4th, 2007 09:45 amThe man I talked to on the phone yesterday (Dennis) was very helpful. My home voicemail had three messages on it. The first one from was from Dennis who said that the situation was more complicated than he thought and that the store was going to call him back in an hour. The second one was from Tammy at Guest Relations who said that the problem was now sorted out and the store would call me to set up a time for me to return the unit. The third call was again from Dennis who told me that the problem was there was no store barcode on the packaging, so they reviewed the store security tapes from the day I bought the machine, and they now see that the purchase is legitimate. The store never called me to set up that time, but I'm ok with that. I imagined that if I set up a time they would have the police ready and waiting to arrest me for trying to scam the store. So I just showed up after I ate lunch and took a short nap (I wanted to be ready for prison). Stephanie ended up making the exchange and she was sweet as pie. Which is good for her because if she had looked at me cross-eyed she would have needed to call Security again.
From the behavior of Stephanie and the security officer (yeah, I'm leaving part of the story out), I get the feeling that there were some people called on the carpet yesterday.
I'm going to write to Target to thank Dennis for his help.
