Aug. 30th, 2004 03:49 pmIt occurs to me that I haven't really updated in a while. I'm feeling pretty good. It's Monday and I'm kind of sleepy, but it's almost 4:00 and time to go home. We visited Justin's grandmother yesterday. We took her to Red Robin for lunch and then ran some errands.
Justin heard a rumor through the Goodyear Grapevine that his parents are moving to Wyoming. Justin got a call from his dad last week asking if they could get together and discuss some things. We're guessing that they're going to put the responsibility of Tena on Justin. Which, you know, isn't bad or anything. We already handle a large part of what Tena needs. The problem is that Tena didn't move up here for any reason that involves Justin or me. Her move up here was to be closer to her son. That's the only reason she's here. Tena's always been very good to Justin and always treated him like he was her grandchild, but he's not blood. David's the only blood relative she has here and I don't think it will be good for her to lose that connection and have only Justin and me. I'll wait to hear what's actually going on before I fly off the handle about it.
Amanda had her baby. He's a boy and he's named Christopher Matthew. I warned her of the dangers of the name Christopher, but I guess that's my hangup and not hers. She hasn't sent out my gifts yet or even the list of who gave what so I haven't done my thank you cards yet. I'm really anxious to get them out, but I can't push her when she has a brand new baby at home.
I took Justin to Don Drumm Studios this weekend. It's located not far from where Lisa and I stayed when we first moved here. It's one of those places that locals don't seem to know about. Which is a shame because it's way cool. It's located smack dab in one of the worst neighborhoods around and it's full of artwork from artists from around the country. Mostly there's Don Drumm's brushed aluminum wallhangings, but there's also a lot of glasswork, pottery, and jewelry. I really love browsing through there even though it's always crowded. It started raining while we were inside and it was a short walk to the car. Still, I was drenched by the time I got inside the car and you could see through my shirt. So I sat for a while letting the air conditioner blow on me. Then we went to Best Buy and bought Buffy Season 5. I think Angel Season 4 is coming out soon. I'll need to check on it.
I still haven't changed my name. I should really do that soon. I think I need to contact the Social Security Office and then all my credit cards. I think Justin and I are going to open joint checking and savings accounts. My company just switched banks and First Merit is offering all kinds of incentives to switch over.
It's amazing how much I can write and how little of it is actually interesting.
