A good weekend for me and entertainment.
Feb. 23rd, 2004 10:41 amDo you know the last time I bought a CD? I do. It was October of 2002 and the CD was "Tomorrow" by SR-71. That's sad. Yesterday I bought three CDs. Do you know the last time I bought 3 CDs at one time? It was early 1998. And all three were Ben Folds Five. I just don't buy a lot of music. I enjoy music. I don't think anyone here could tell you honestly that I don't. I think it's because I don't just *listen* to music. In order to enjoy music I have to *absorb* it. It must be completely memorized. Every word, every beat, every pluck of a guitar string. Strangely, though, as soon as it's memorized I love it. And it could be any song. I love it all as long as it's in my head. I know every CD I own by heart, so yesterday I bought Yellowcard "Ocean Avenue," MXPX "Before, Everything & After," and N.E.R.D., but I don't remember the name of the album, but it had "Rock Star". A very slow version of "Rock Star." Kind of disappointing, really, but it has some funky beats. I wanted to buy Placebo's CD, too, but it was the most expensive of the four, so I put it down and bought the other three. I'll get them next time. I kind of regret it, though, because I think I would have enjoyed Placebo more than N.E.R.D.
I bought Angel Season III on DVD, too. I watched the first two episodes last night. I wish Justin liked that show. It's strange. Whenever he comes in and hears a few lines of dialogue, he'll giggle and seem to enjoy it, but then he turns his nose up at it and leaves the room. He won't watch an entire episode. I wonder if he's doing it just on principle.
Justin traded in his X-box and got himself a GameBoy Advance. I think "SP." The little one with the flip-up screen. He still had some store credit so we bought Super Mario Bros. III. I love that game. I never beat it, though, so I'm working my way back through the Mushroom World to save the kings who've been transformed into animals. I'm on world 4 currently. I don't really have the attention span for these kinds of games. So I just work on them a little bit at a time. It also included the original Mario Bros. and I've been playing that. I'm good at it.
My plecostomus died. He jumped out of my tank sometime on Friday. I found him Saturday morning. I have a covered tank, so it must've been one powerful jump to make it through the filter opening in the back of the tank to the carpet in front of the tank. I feel bad because it's usually adverse water conditions that cause them to jump, or so I've read. I'm thinking about getting some Amano shrimp. I found a place online where you can order them.
