Beating the flood waters back
Jul. 9th, 2003 08:01 amSo I got home and moved the bed and my music stand and ran the steam cleaner to clean up the water. The water smelled so bad. Like mold and muck. Didn't look too pretty, either. I moved the bed back and made it up and then got started on the laundry. I had it separated into 5 loads, but I was able to condense it down to 4. So it didn't take as long as I thought it would. Then I went back in the bedroom to find that we had, again, flooded. These damn storms. It's like the first summer that Lisa and I were here. A whole week of severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings. At least I don't freak out about them anymore. So I started running the steam cleaner again. Justin got home and saw me doing it. He knew I was upset. So he took me out to the nearby Mexican restaurant. I love that restaurant. They have really good salsa. Oh, and really good enchiladas. Man, I love enchiladas. I have a good recipe for them, but it takes a long time and it's hard to shred chicken thigh meat while it's still raw. So I like it when other people do it for me. Oh, but their cheese enchiladas are to die for...um...I think I just went on a tangent. Let's see...storm, flood, cleaning, mexican restaurant...ok.
My credit card company called twice yesterday. Justin thought I wouldn't like to talk to them so he told them I wasn't home. I really would like to talk to them; I don't know why they're calling. My payments are always early and I'm not over my balance, so why would they call. I called them when I got home to find out and the guy I talked to said he had no idea why they would call me. I'm assuming they'll call back today.
Maybe I'll just have the wedding ceremony and no reception. That would save about $3,500. Then all I would have to pay for is the other $400 for the ceremony, hotel rooms, airfare, and meals while we're there. I'll think about this.
