Theoretically, Ten2 is supposed to have traits from Donna (where his human DNA comes from) and that would have been the tie-breaker but it still doesn't work out in my head. He really is the Doctor (and this is where I do think that Ten was more than slightly jealous of his counterpart; the look in his eyes at the end of that beach scene is haunting), plus, if Rose still wanted the aliens and the adventure, she still has her own Torchwood to work for. (I'd rather have them work at Torchwood as an agent-couple for a few years before just settling down and retiring, traveling their new world and/or space with the newly grown TARDIS.
