I agree completely. Rose makes her viewpoint perfectly clear in season 1. "it was a better life. And I - I don't mean all the traveling and... seeing aliens and spaceships and things - that don't matter." Given the choice between the traveling and the Doctor, she'll choose the Doctor every time.

And I think that TenII is as much the Doctor as the Doctor is the Doctor. Oh, that was a fun sentence!
