30 Days of Television - Day 26
Day 26 - OMG WTF? Season finale
"Daybreak, Part 2", Battlestar Galactica
Let me start by saying I loved Battlestar Galactica. I loved it enough that I sat myself in front of the TV to watch it as it aired because I didn't want to wait until the next day to skip commercials or risk my DVR cutting it off or corrupting the recording (and it should be noted me watching a show as it is airs is rare). I waited patiently for a whole year between half seasons. But this devotion is probably why I hate this ending so much. I hated this so much that I can't bring myself to watch this show at all anymore. No reruns. No DVD purchases. I have no interest in Caprica or Razor. I am so disgusted by this ending that I didn't want to write today's entry. I can't even make it through the snarky recap on Television Without Pity. I would, however, recommend reading the recaplet, even though I think the reviewer was much too kind.
Apparently, "All Around the Watchtower" is the coordinates for Earth. Not the Earth that was nuked thousands of years ago, but the Earth we currently live on. The angry, swearing, drinking, fighting, Starbuck is Jesus. Six is the Devil (At least that explains the red dress). Gaius Baltar, one of the lousiest, most cowardly, unsympathetic, slimy characters of all time is God. And, oh yeah, we're all descended from Cylons. Feh. They had years to come up with a decent ending for this show and they went with Mitochondrial Eve. I waited a year for this and this fuckery was the best they could do??? I thought they had a plan!
Ok, apparently I get way too worked up about this. But I guess that means that I chose correctly on today's subject.
