I was seriously considering the Ion back in early 2005, just before realizing I was pregnant*. I was sorry to hear that line was discontinued.
The more I think about it, the more I lean towards the Saturn. The salesman mentioned in passing that I was test driving the base model. There's a soupier version available and if it has the power of the Mazda3, then Saturn would definitely overtake Mazda. I need to call and find out. If that's the case, I'll probably go back on Friday afternoon and do another test drive.
* And I do mean *just* before. I was at the Cleveland auto show wondering why I felt so nauseated.
