Funeral stuff

I tend not to think much about funerals. Attending one, though, has made me think about the things I want and don't want. I understand funerals are more for the living than the dead, but I at least want a funeral that reflects the person I was.

Want #1: I want someone I knew to deliver the eulogy. Preferably, I would like time set aside for friends and family to stand and share stories.

Want #2: I want to pick the music that is played. Hymns are quite lovely, but they're not all that indicative of my personality. I'm going to make a playlist of songs that I want played at my funeral during the before and after bits when people are coming and going.

Want #3: This isn't a want so much as notice that I don't actually care what happens with my remains. I only ask that I not be left in Ohio. :) Donate my organs and cremate what's left. Right now I think I'd like to be scattered in the Snake River upriver of Asotin. Up by where the road ends. There's a place where the eddies look like a big whirlpool. I like it up there quite a bit.

It looks ridiculous. And we will have to answer to our children for this atrocity.
