I'm feeling good about my video gaming last night. A LS friend helped me unlock the Summoner job and I started leveling that over the weekend. Last night I had Carbuncle out and was cutting a swath of destruction through East Sarutabaruta when a level 6 tarutaru white mage wearing a question mark by his name (a question mark indicates a new player) came by and bowed to me. I smiled back and he continued on, but stopped a few steps later. He typed a o.O emoticon then ran up to where Carbuncle was fighting and poked him. I joked to my LS that this lvl 6 WHM just saw his first SMN. He started talking to me and we ended up duoing through E. Sarutabaruta. He was brand-spankin' new to the game and didn't even have Banish (a WHM's main offensive spell). After about an hour both our inventories were full so we headed back to the city. I bought Banish for him (had to switch to my BLM job and grab the airship since Windurst is in third place this week) and requested a linkpearl for him from my LS leader, Raphaella. She "sacked" me instead (meaning I would be able to make him a linkpearl myself). So I gave him the spell and the pearl then let Raph know she could "desack" me. She decided to keep me as a sack holder (I can't help but giggle at that term, sorry, I'm juvenile), which I think is really an honor. I feel really good about helping a brand new player. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a jerk.

On a side note, SMN is turning out to be awesome! At the low levels I was able to take on 6-8 easy prey mobs before my MP ran out. That's about 300 - 400 xp (with my empress band on) in about 5 minutes. Which is excellent! The xp's not flowing so fast now I'm taking on higher mobs, but it's still pretty cool.
