Oct. 24th, 2003 08:14 amI'm so proud of myself. I got so much stuff unpacked last night. The bookshelves put together and arranged, the computer table moved, books, CDs, videos, and DVDs unpacked and in their proper places. There's actually still a lot of books to unpack. Since we lost that big bookcase in the flood, I'm trying to figure out how to fit all the books on the remaining two cases. I've decided to arrange the paperbacks two deep and two high on one shelf. So that should save some room. I think I'll go to Walmart and get two 5-shelf cases that will go under the window in that room. I'll have to measure first to see if there's enough room, though. Once I get the books unpacked, I can use the space those boxes are taking to store all the knick knacks that I don't want to put out until everything else is unpacked and shelves put up. I think that as soon as I get the game room all set up, I can finally get the other rooms done. My living room/dining room is an absolute wreck with empty boxes and newspaper wrapped glass stuff everywhere. Plus, Justin (sweetie that he is) sorted all the laundry, but he sorts it in the living room so there's piles of laundry everywhere, too. My bedroom is full of shoes and boxes of clothes that don't fit anymore. I need to put the shoes away and go through the boxes; keep what is sentimental and give away everything else. My sister-in-law recently lost a lot of weight. I think I'll send them to her.
I'm having fun with it because a lot of this stuff didn't get unpacked at my old place. I knew the day I moved in that I didn't want to stay, so I didn't bother unpacking. It's nice to see some of these old things.
I found my high school year books last night. There's a lot of "Thank you for your help" and "I'm going to miss you so much"...I feel bad because I don't remember the people who wrote those things. Who are these people? Did that happen to anyone else? Of course, I remember the people I was (and still am) close to. Ril wrote something beautiful and it still means a lot.
I hope I didn't write dumb stuff in theirs...
